The Donor Acquisition and Retention Survey

(DARS) has helped to develop benchmarking of fundraising in the charity sector. It is presented by the PFRA [http:www.pfra.org] (Professional Fundraising Regulatory Association), supported by a core group of 15 members, and first results are presented at the PFRA AGM.

Co-authored by Rupert Tappin of Future Fundraising and Morag Fleming of Quarriers the survey focuses on aspects of donor and charity behaviour at initial sign up and beyond. Results are additionally analysed by Professor Adrian Sargeant of Indiana University in order to elicit valuable information for charities with regard to their behaviour towards donors.
