Alex Grindley
Hi, I’m Alex, the Operational Quality Manager at Future Fundraising. I deal with a lot of the field logistics. I therefore have contact with many of our clients and other companies in our sector, to ensure the smooth running of each campaign.

How long have you been in Fundraising?
I have worked in Fundraising for the last 10 years.
What were you doing before?
I was studying at University in Liverpool for the three years before this.
Why do you do it?
I gave to a couple of charities on a regular basis after the age of 18 and have found that the longer I have been in the charity sector, the more passionate I have become and the more I have wanted to be part of the process.
What has been your best ever day in fundraising?
My self and a few others set-up and ran a series of workshops and musical events to help raise money and awareness about Knife crime in parts of London. It was thoroughly enjoyable and gratifying at the same time.
What/Who inspires you?
People who dedicate their lives to a cause, people who use their own situational problems in order to help others facing the same problems.
What is the worst thing about fundraising?
It isn’t tangible enough for the amount of work put in, the reward should not have to be sought but more people would be involved if they could see and feel the difference they made.
What is the best piece of advice you could give someone about to start in fundraising?
Do not give up on the beliefs you begin with.
